SpeedENote Application Information
This application lets you rapidly create reminder notes on your desktop. Unleash your inner hippie and save trees by using electronic reminder notes instead of paper ones.

You can install the application by running the *.msi file that you obtain from the download page.
General Information
Once you have downloaded an installed the application, take some time to walk around the office feeling smug.
Ruthlessly exploit your newly obtained moral high ground by asking some co-workers what they have done for the environment lately
(if you work for Greenpeace, you might want to skip this step).
Creating a SpeedENote
After installation the application will live in your task bar. When you want to create a new (environmentally friendly, non-paper based) desk note,
just right click the SpeedENote icon and select 'New SpeedENote'. A new note will appear on your desktop. The note will start in Edit mode (see below).
Editing a SpeedENote
To edit or move a SpeedENote, simply double-click it and the note will enter Edit mode.
Edit Mode
When a note is in Edit mode you can move it, resize it and change the text. You can also right-click the note to access a menu of options.
When you have finished editing the note, just double-click it again to exit Edit mode.
Edit Mode Menu
When a note in in Edit mode you can right click it to access a menu. This menu has the following options
- Stop Editing - this option exits from Edit Mode. It is an alternative to double-clicking the note
- Options - this option displays the the Desk Note Configuration Dialog
- Delete Note - this option allows you to delete the SpeedENote
Configure Note Dialog
If you right click a SpeedENote when it is in Edit Mode and select 'Options' from the menu then the Configure Note dialog will appear. This
form allows you to change color, font and size settings for the SpeedENote. Once you have finished changing the settings you can either Save or Cancel
your changes from the File menu.
Changing SpeedENote Color Settings
You can change the colors for a SpeedENote by clicking on the colored squares on the Color Settings panel of the Configure Note dialog
Changing SpeedENote Font Settings
You can change the Font type and size for a SpeedENote by using the Text Settings panel of the Configure Note dialog.
Changing SpeedENote Size Settings
You can change the border size for a SpeedENote by using the Size Settings panel of the Configure Note dialog.
Changing SpeedENote Default Settings
You can change the default settings that are used to create new SpeedENote in two ways:
- By selecting the Configure option when you right click on the SpeedENote taskbar icon.
This will display a Configure Note dialog box that lets you adjust the default SpeedENote settings.
- By checking the Defaults|Change Default Settings menu option on the Configure Note dialog box that appears when you configure a SpeedENote.
This option will cause the configuration settings on the dialog to be saved to the defaults as well as to the SpeedENote you are currently editing.
Deleting a SpeedENote
You can delete a SpeedENote by selecting the Delete menu option that appears when you right-click a note that is in Edit mode. When you select
this option a confirmation message will appear. If you want to delete the note then choose 'OK', otherwise choose 'Cancel'.
You can uninstall the application from the Add/Remove Programs feature of the Control Panel
